This is Zea. She goes to HC and participated in the opening ceremonies of the Triangle Park ice rink, open daily in downtown Lexington. She and other skaters from the Lexington Ice Center performed "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas." It was cool although according to Zea they had never actually skated on the rink before. Still, the performance was good even though the ice was melting in the 60 degree whether we randomly had that day. Anyways, I like this picture quite bit although I do wish her face was better in focus. You can see the guy whose head is near her shoe better than you can see her own face. But it happens when taking action shots.

Neigh...
Well, according to my flickr account this picture isn't very popular. Then again, according to my blog hits, neither is this blog. Anyways, for some reason horses (and other animals) really like to pose for me. I've taken at least a hundred, if not more, pictures of my dog in the past year alone. I really like taking pictures of animals because unlike people, the don't worry about what they look like. And to us, they just about always end up looking perfect. Yesterday I actually signed up to volunteer with the Woodford Humane Society, and one of the things I signed up for was taking pictures of animals. I would love to take cute pictures of them to help them get adopted! Using my (what I guess you could call) talent to help animals who need a loving home. That's what I call perfect.

Knot your average day
Well, today has been an average day but I like this knot. It's part of a rope that my cousins and I hung in my grandma's tree about ten years ago. It's weaker now but it's still there. It used to have a red plastic milk crate attached at the bottom that we used as a swing, but that eventually came off with all of my younger cousins playing on it. It was very cool though. Now it's just an old rope hanging from an old tree, but in black and white it looks interesting.

Choco Chip Cookies
Anybody who really knows me knows I can bake a mean cookie. For Thanksgiving I baked over two hundred cookies. That's a lotta lotta cookies. They were delicious though. Chocolate chip, seen here, snicker doodles, and apple spice cookies with homemade icing. Between my boyfriend's family and my family, they were all gone within days. Thank you hungry people! Anyways, while I waited for a batch to bake I decided to take some shots of the dough. I think it's an okay picture... Not fantastic, just ok.
Squash?
One good turn deserves another... I posted the pumpkin so why not post this slightly mysterious gourd as well. Lourdy a gourdy... Well, once again I like this picture. Crazy, huh? I used plus two saturation while taking it to bring out the pretty orange color and I like how imperfect this little... Squash? Kumquat? Who knows what... Is.
Call me a pumpkin
Late, late, late. I haven't posted a new photo for a month and that's basically because I have been crazy busy. Right now I am working on a million things, but this picture is from Boyd's orchard. My mom, and I went there to buy some apple cider and I brought my camera along for the ride. I really like this picture. It just looks like fall to me.

Yellow
Well, here's today's picture! I took it yesterday but today was a pretty and sunny day. The first of November. Junior year is flying by. Luckily I at least stop to take pictures of the roses occasionally. These were a surprise. The bush their on didn't do well last year but when I went outside yesterday, there they were. Apparently they like a bit of frost? Anyways, this is my favorite angle for flowers. I guess it's nothing special, but it's pretty.
wood pile.
Well, this isn't the most fantastic or striking picture I've ever taken. But this is from the woodpile in our backyard that my mom recently purchased. We had an AWESOME fire yesterday with this wood. It's perfect. Last year we got crappy wood that turned out to be green and popped like crazy without even giving off much heat. This wood is perfect. Slow burning, hot, good smelling... perfect. It was so perfect that I brought too many pieces of wood up yesterday so we had a follow up fire again today. It's beginning to FEEL a lot like Christmas, the happiest time of the year! I definitely skipped Sunday on accident, but I don't feel like fixing that. I still have one more picture to post so this is close enough!

October 29 I went to the UK game. This photo is completely unrelated. However, I love black and white photos because they add so much drama to everyday objects. Or in this case, plants. This is what's left of these vine flowers that grow in my backyard. I suppose if you wanted to make this define the day, you could say the extreme contrast of black and white gives it the impression of a cold day, and the fuzziness of the dead flower is like the warm and fuzzy clothes necessary during the UK game. We lost horribly by the way, but real fans stay til the end! There's the dramatic feeling of the picture in relation to life? Haha. Sure.
Pop!
(For October 28) This was taken yesterday, but I really like the depth of field on this. You can slightly see the stones of my house in the back ground but that's not in focus. The flower is definitely the focus. I also love how bright this little rose was and how well it contrasted against the stone wall. Anyways, that is all.
Flute
October 27th was a blur, soo here's just a picture I like. Last week the Christmas cheer bug suddenly got into me. I'm itching to bake and I bought a bunch of Christmas music off iTunes because Michael Buble released this FANTASTIC new Christmas album. So, I was inspired to get my good old flute out and play some Christmas music of my own. It was nice. It may have been Thursday actually... Anyways, I like the "bokeh" (word learned from excessive exploring on flickr) on the keys of the flute, and the focus and shadows. Makes me miss being really good at playing the flute.
Raindrops
This was taken October 26. It was a cold, wet, rainy day. The perfect day for staying inside and doing absolutely nothing. I'd been inside all day and I decided to venture out into the downpour- and trust me, it was a downpour- with my camera wrapped in a Kroger bag I took a few pictures of the raindrops. I thought it turned out pretty interesting.
silhouette
This picture represents last Monday, October 24. It wasn't actually taken that day, and I don't really remember it. So I assume it was a bit of a just-get-through-it kind of day. This is actually part of a sign for "Fantasia Farm." My mom and I went on a little country drive one day and as I was taking this picture someone that owns the place or works there drove up. It was a tad awkward. Anyways, I just like how it looks silhouetted with the sky.
Sunny Day
Well, it's been a really long time since I posted. This picture is from/ for October 23. It was Sunday and I was about to go to a 2:00 play at my school, but it was BEAUTIFUL outside. Cold, but beautiful. I usually take pictures from the front, but I decided to try something a little different. Apparently this makes my posts out of order... but I promise now that soccer's over I'll try to do better with posting at least nearly every day.

FML
Well, it has been a week since I posted. During that week we won regionals (yayy) but tonight we lost sectionals to Boyle county high school, 1-0. The scored in the first five minutes off of a fluke free kick that may or may not have even been a real foul. So, even though I took this picture awhile ago, here's today's picture. It's just sorta how I feel. Oh and this one wasn't staged btw. It just sort of happened.

Philosophy
Here's my picture for today. I found these verses in Philippians 3 while I was waiting to find out when my postponed soccer game started. Turns out it'll start tomorrow at 8:00 so I was waiting for nothing, but I still think this picture turned out somewhat cool. The focus is on lines 12-14 because those are the ones that I want you to read when you see this picture. I think it's a good philosophy for soccer, academics, and life- straight from the bible.
Back Again
Well, this picture is really for yesterday so let's pretend like we're still on October 17th. Anyways, this is a picture of a monarch that I took on Sunday when I was probably supposed to be doing something somewhat productive. Anyways, I like how incredibly in focus this picture is, and that you can even see the curled up"tongue" (I don't know what else to call it) of the butterfly. Plus I like how you can't see anything except the butterfly and flower. Not entirely sure how I managed that, but I think it's interesting.

October 16, 2011
This is a picture I took a few days ago of my dog... Today all I'm doing is staying inside working on homework that I probably should have finished yesterday. Anyways, my dog likes to pose for pictures occasionally and this was one of those times. She's 13 or 14 years old (I can't quite remember) but she still acts like a puppy. I think it's because she has something wrong in her mind. She has seizures once every month or two.

Forgotten
Well, this is the picture that I am most proud of from today. That may sound strange but when I took it, I thought it was interesting. This is a picture of the seat from the old workout bike that somehow ended up in my backyard. We never had it in our house and I'm not entirely sure how it got there, but there it is all the same, sad and forgotten.
